Letter from the Pastor:
Dear Parishioners of Queen of Peace and Immaculate Conception Parishes,
My name is Fr. Peyton Plessala, and I am very excited to be your new pastor. I’ve been here over a week now, and am still getting settled in. I appreciate the warm welcome I have received from everyone, and I look forward to getting to know all of you better! First, I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself.
I grew up in Mobile, AL and am the oldest son of four children. Both of my parents are physicians, and many of you may already know, but my next youngest brother, Connor, is also a priest of the Archdiocese of Mobile. We grew up in St. Ignatius Parish in Mobile and attended McGill-Toolen Catholic High School. After high school, I went to LSU for three years where I was studying biology, psychology, and Italian language with plans to follow my father’s footsteps and become an OB-GYN. The Lord had a different plan.
One night when I was praying in Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, I heard the Lord call me to enter into seminary, so I left LSU and went to St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, LA for two years. Then I studied theology at St. Meinrad Seminary in southern Indiana for four years until I was ordained to the priesthood on May 30, 2020. My first priestly assignment was at Little Flower in Mobile, then at St. Martin of Tours in Troy, and finally at St. Michael’s in Auburn.
Personally, I am very interested in all kinds of things and love learning new skills. I enjoy sports, cooking, woodworking, literature, and I even dabble in piano and singing. I hope this helps you get to know me a little more, and I’m very excited to get to know you! God Bless!
